MY PH.D. THESIS
My Ph.D. Thesis
I spent almost 5 years getting my Ph.D. at Stanford. A major part
of my thesis was building a large water channel to run flow
experiments. I recently passed by the lab and saw that a few pieces
of my work were still in use, and in fact, until quite recently,
the whole channel was still intact. Not bad for something I built
20 years ago.

Back then, movies were shot on 16 mm film and data was stored on 8"
floppies. I may very well have been the first student in the M.E.
department to write and print my thesis using a computer.
